Hi Justine, As you may be aware there is a LAM Foundation in the US and I am a very good friend of a woman with this disease; We have been holding fundraisers for over 6 years and doing our part to try to raise awareness of this disease; We recently had an event posted at the Three Tomatoes and Grizzell informed me about your You Tube video and website; My friend Madeline and many other US LAM patients were following your story and we are very happy to see you feeling so good; We will keep up the fight here and hope you keep in touch with us; This website features a story that is in our local paper about a fundraising event we are having this week; (I had to remove the website address so email me and I will send you the story)Good health to you; Your story is very encouraging;
5 March 2007 - United States

Justine Responds:   Hi there Eugenia, lovely to hear from you and brilliant that you are raising Lam awareness in the USA. I have heard of the Lam Foundation, and the support overseas has been wonderful - especially through my near death experiences. I will get in touch with you and Madeline too - and send all my love and get well wishes for this incurable disease. Let us campaign across the world to find a cure for Lam! X

Hello mate,

Hope life is well and all is great on the Chelmsford front; Missing you girls and guys oodles; Hope Johny K is well and eating way too much;

You are still getting messages from people all over the glove, that is so cool still; You have people hooked on the website now; Normally the first place I check before my yahoo account;

Not been up to much, reworking some overlong passages of the book, cooking everyday (which is cool as my grandma only lets me in the kitchen sporadically when back in basvegas);

Mum and dad are well and send there love; Make sure you keep Kohny well fed, those months can get cold without insulation;

Love you both loads and oodles of hugs, kisses and elbows enroute

Oliver

Sitting at work bored, so thought I would sign into my favourite website and girl; How are you today; Might call you later if you are up to it;

Been looking at your website; You really have reached all four corners of the globe; Don't let anyone say that you are not international;

Are you ever allowed to go on an aeroplane with you new lungs? I assume its not a good idea, due to pressure and being to far away from Harefield hospital if an emergency comes up;

Have you managed to do any more tv appearances or newpaper articles as yet?

Keep smiling

Love you
Mark

Hi justine
just catching up with your latest; so pleased you have had so much time at home, it must be incredible to be out of a hospital albeit for however short a time that is; I often think of you and hoping that your lungs continue to keep working wonders;
My son, alexander continues to charm us all; we have had a really bad season with many chest infections and admissions; The doctors have confirmed that his right upper lobe is collapsed again - they think it may stay permenantly like that - eek! He has also undergone a gastrostomy operation so that we can feed him a bit as he was all skin and bones; It was hard for us to face that after fighting so hard to feed him but it was for the best - he has already put on 2 lbs in 2 weeks!!!! :D He has big juicy thighs now that i cant resist pinching from time to time; He has also learnt to talk much more coherently and its very entertaining listening to him jabber away to himself!
Lots of love as usual

Justine Responds:   Wow...Sonya you have certainly gone through a lot with Alexander. It's good to hear that he has put on some weight. I've got all my fingers/toes/ears/and whatever else I can cross for you - that he starts to get better. Remember to keep smiling too and stay in touch. X

Hi Justine
Just come back from Dublin; It was alot more expensive than I remember some years ago; In fact it was even more expensive than London believe it or not; However had fun with the euro slot machines and looking at the very limited sights and monuments they have there; Maykon loved it also but said he thought it was extremely expensive and slightly dull, so would not return in a hurry;

I also made Maykon drink again the freshly brewed Guinness; He still hates me for that, but a tourist needs to try the culture; The one amazing thing was walking into a smoke free pub; Even the smokers said it was great; You know me, went into question and answer mode;

I never mentioned that I am off to Brasil on the 1st of April with Nathan and Maykon; Two weeks and four days of sun, sea and sand;

xx

Hi Kiddo

Just read your site; Wishing you the speediest of recoveries; I hope that you still have a big smile, rather than letting this thing get you down; Things are moving in the right direction, even if there are a couple of knock backs along the way; You are strong and lovely, kind and wonderful; Your world may have got smaller but your heart has grown bigger;

I am good; Off to Dublin tomorrow for a couple of pints of guiness; I will have one for you too; Staying in a lovely hotel for one evening; Will share the full trip stories with you when we next catch up; Let me know when you are able or in the right mind set to receive visitors;

Big kiss to my girl x Also give my regards and warmest thoughts to the rest of your family;

Maykon and the rest of the crew send their love also;

Omg i wish i had some of your energy, have you got any going spare?
How does it feel to be 34 anyway? I feel ok, feels like im getting older and wiser, lol not sure if thats actually possible, but glad you had a lovely birthday;

Am returning to the torture chamber that is hospital on tuesday, i have pre-cancerous cells that wont respond to treatment but i am 99% sure i will be ok and that they will bugger off and leave me alone;

Anyway, i just need to look at you for inspiration, i will try to (think of you) on tuesday as i sit and wobble with nerves as i wait to be seen, wish i could ban myself from hospital though :(

Anyway, take care and hope your pesky lungs start behaving!

I see your Dad is having a bad time too - he thinks it's Thursday today! Don't feel bad about the down times - at least they're only 30%; It would certainly be very easy to shut your eyes and go to sleep, but what would be the point of all the fighting you've done? Carry on with the 70% time and keep fighting;

Dear Justine,
So sorry to hear you are back in hospital; It sounds as if you are being well looked after; Can you listen to the radio or watch TV while you are in your room? I sympathise with the not being able to talk to anyone thing-it is the worst thing for a chatterbox! It is natural for you to feel low sometimes, but I am sure with all of us lammies behind you and all your friends and family you will keep fighting on; You are a very brave lady and have done well to get through what you did last year; Know that I am praying for you and wishing you a speedy recovery; You'll be out there drinking frappucinos and running up stairs in clothes shops in no time!

love,

Hi Justine,

Thinking of you - hope you feel better soon!!! …and you get back to some sort of normality!! All too often we take for granted that vital process we call breath, your struggle is a constant reminder of why we each must fight for survival against all that suffocates us…;

Wishing you peace and harmony - and a bit of respite in your fight!!

Much love,

Hi Justine! I found your web page while I was searching for some software for my PDA! Hey you!

How are you feeling today, a bit better i hope; Well at least you are in the right place and in the warm, its blinking freezing out there! We had a few cms of snow back home but unfortunatley not enough for the trains to be cancelled, so i had to come into work - boo!
Your diary message and talk of nebulisers remind me of when Bec and I had to use them for our Asthma, being pumped full of drugs to help you breath and it does make you feel rather woozy, and i also remember feeling quite emotional after it all, again due to the drugs - oh what fun!

Well you build up your strength young lady and you will be fighting fit again in no time im sure;

Take care and chat again soon

Dear Just,

Hope you are feeling in fine fettle today; I hope the weather outside is bad enough that being inside feels not so bad; Its so cold up North that my feet ached after walking round the corner to buy bread and the guardian;

Wondering if you fancy some kind of Oscar's sweepstake; So much British interest and all, plus you being a movie lover and all; I saw Babel last night and it was weird, slow, wonderful, boring, intriguing in patches; Brad Pitt looked haggard; Certainly glad I did not see it with my mum because a Japanese girl got naked about 4 times (all in the name of art I suppose); Anyway I would give it a 6;5 out of 10; Certainly not a Best Film contender;

Take care my dear and you are never far from my thoughts; Oodles of luck, hugs, love, kisses, sunshine, PMA

Don’t give up whatever life brings,
Continue to move forward and strive to succeed
Don’t give up on your hopes and your dreams,
But hold on to them diligently;

No one said that life would be tough
No one said things would never be rough,
It’s easy to be strong
When things are going well,
But it takes extra courage
When things aren’t so well;

IF what comes your way does not break you,
Then all it can do is strengthen you,
And in a little while, it will shape you –
Into a tougher, wise and more confident person

Relax if need be, but don’t give in;
Remain strong and don’t be beaten,
Your strength is not in giving in
but, in not quitting, and in hoping to win,
Found this little poem and thought it would cheer you up,

Hi Justine :) I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling great at the moment and you're being restricted to your room, that must be frustrating, to say the least! I hope you respond to the treatment and start feeling better soon - at least it was detected now and can be sorted so you can carry on with your new life! I have no doubt you'll win this fight! xxx

Hi Justine,

I've never commented before but followed your story for many months;

Just wanted to let you know that I had RSV two years ago, and was similarly suprised to get such an odd virus - for me it was also picked up after a bronchoscopy; I have bronchiectasis and I'm treated at Heartlands in Birmingham; Fortunately for me I responsed to steroids and the antibiotics so I didn't have to have the nebuliser treatment, but I was told all about it and it did sound pretty unpleasant;

Really hope everything starts picking up soon; Just wanted you to know that you're not alone with that bug, and I'm fine now, so try not to get too despondant about being so very special! Hope you're up and dancing again soon;

xx

I came across your site by accident; Having now read your diary it has really moved me; You seem such a strong fighter with so much energy and from comments other people have said you always seem to be so happy; I can't imagine what you have gone through but you have insipred me;

Before I went on LAM action website was confused why this only effects woman but think I have a basic understanding now; Hopefully the research they are doing will find away to prevent this in the future;

I myself have had a mild lung desease for years which is nothing in comparision ;

All the best for your wedding and hope all your dreams come true for 2007; I know from your website there are a number of things you would like to do; I will do my best to help if I can;

I never knew anything about LAM into I read your site;
